We invite you to participate in this historic event by attending the annual awards dinner on 22 March 2018 and becoming engaged in associated event activities.
To honor San Antonio’s Aviation and Aerospace History and to nurture our future generations of aviation and aerospace innovators, The Dee Howard Foundation (DHF) has joined together, in collaboration with other local, state, and national partners, to organize the San Antonio Aviation and Aerospace Hall of Fame 2018 Awards Dinner to be hosted by GDC Technics at their state of the art hangar at Port San Antonio.
The 2018 Hall of Fame is of special significance because it is celebrating San Antonio’s aviation and aerospace history in a year that San Antonio is celebrating its Tricentennial, DHF is honored to announce that the 2018 Hall of Fame has been designated as an official Tricentennial Partner Event. The event will feature a reception with entertainment provided by the award winning Mariachi Aguila from Brackenridge High School, dinner, induction of 2018 Honorees, the presentation of the first annual DHF STEM Education Excellence Award (SEEA), and a display of current and vintage US Military and civilian aircraft. There will also be exhibits by some of DHF's education partners.
The San Antonio Aviation and Aerospace Hall of Fame is privileged to announce that the Hon. Ron Nirenberg, Mayor of the City of San Antonio, will open the 2018 Awards Dinner and that Dr. Alan Stern will be the Keynote Speaker. Dr. Stern is a planetary scientist, space program executive, aerospace consultant, and author. He leads NASA’s $880M New Horizons mission that successfully explored the Pluto system and is now exploring the Kuiper Belt—the farthest exploration in the history of humankind. Richard Perez, President and CEO of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, will be the MC of this historic event.
